"A little more time, that's all, but then God's timing and our own is so different. I don't know when or how but I know that it will happen because He's told me."

Nyedzi Greyson, a troubled teen from a family that worships money and status over anything, finds herself caught up in the unmerciful storms of life. Family and academic pressure kills any hope she has to find inner peace. A busy life with no friends or anyone she can seek in times of need, she finds herself lost in a rollercoaster of bad decisions and rebellion.

On a Friday night in Onge's Spot, celebrating a successful Derby, Amari Ndebe and Nyedzi's worlds collide. A Christian boy after God's own heart develops an interest in the school's lonely genius. Back and forth bantering and compliments lead to a peculiar friendship. He only seeks to help her find comfort in God but gets in the way.

"You can't just ghost me, Amari. Not when I need you the most. Do you think I can survive this without you?"
"That right there. I don't want you to need me. You need Him. I want you to want me. I can't be your refuge in times of need. I'm only human. I'll make a mistake and your whole world will crumble."
