Lisztomania - The Music Fever

There is no denying that, for such a long time, the world of rock was man-dominated. Only recently have women begun to receive some recognition, but female guitarists are particularly rare. For instance, on the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list only two women made the ranking: Bonnie Raitt at #89 and Joni Mitchell at #75.

It's hard to succeed in the music industry, it's hard to get your work recognised, especially when it's something which you don't traditionally fit into.

That's why so many people give up on their dreams. Because they're unreachable. Because you're most likely going to fail. Because there are millions of people with the same desires as your own and not everyone can be seen. That's the harsh reality of life: Neverland is a real place and that's where all our childish dreams reside.

So, the best thing to do is part Neverland and leave everything behind, facing alone the adult world where you're doomed to live a life which feels more like a dreamless slumber.

It's safer because it's what expected of you. It's what your parents want. It was what her parents wanted.

Harder than facing the competitive world of music industry is facing a road with two paths and no map. Is making the choice between who you should be and who you want to be. Is trying to decide whether it's worth losing yourself to keep someone else. Whether it's worth giving up on everything you've ever known to start knowing who you are.
