~Sequel of ‘Five Hundred Miles'.~
Five years ago, he saw her in a bar. He had fallen in love with her killer smile, the way her hips sway and her beautiful hair that's tied up in a bun. Because, come on, nobody wears their hair like that to the bar anymore. She never once looked at his way. Another man came up and asked her about something, but she shook her head. The next thing he knew, he was pouncing on the man.
Natalie Kirkus was a freshmen in his college, he later found out. He was in sophomore, and he wanted to get her attention.
Derek Miller at last called his plan off. But when he starts moving on, Natalie Kirkus appears in his life once again, with zero memories of him ever existing before.

When she steps into the room, she catches my attention. Not her super hot body, not her messy hair, but her alone. Her lips is still puckered like it used to be, her skin tanner, but her eyes, they are more lively than before. It seems to me that she has found something worth smiling for, and I'm deflated that I'm not the one putting the smile on her face.
-
"Derek?" she whispers my name as she leans in closer to my arms. I like holding her skinny frame, reminds me of how strong I can be protecting the girl I want to. I look at her under my chin, and from the dim light, I can make out her fine features. She really is a Goddess, but does she know that?
"Yeah?" I ask, not bothering to hide the lust in my voice.
She tips her head a little higher, and touches her lips to mine.
-
"Mom," Cara, my sister says when I return home. Her voice sounds too pitchy for my liking, but she's still my sister. "Mom, you have to see this."
My mother rushes out of her room, her clothes crumpled and her hair as messy as a bush. "Oh Derek, dear boy, you're home!"
My sister snorts. "Mama, not just home. He's got a girl."
The rest of the evening, shrieks fill the house.

"I don't know what to do Xavier..." I cry uncontrollably into his chest as he holds onto me for dear life. "I know love. I know."
"I'm such a bother to yall." I choke out. "I'm so fucking weak. I can't even defend myself." Xavier's arms unwrap from my body, and his hands hold my teary face. "I'm a worthless h-human." Xavier furrows his eyebrows in pain. A tear of his own falling down his face.
"No," he says shaking his head. "No. You've never been a bother to me. You aren't weak. And you most certainly aren't worthless." I gasp to breathe, and he continues talking. "What you are is an amazing person who hasn't let all of this crazy bullshit affect her. You handled it like a champ. What you are is a strong, brave being that has stood by my side." I breathe as he leans closer.
"What you are, is the love of my life...."
