While touring in the Immortal Realm with his band, Chris saves a young teenage human from being killed by a member of his tour crew. Chris is appalled by the way Immortals treat humans in this world and instead of taking her back to where he thinks she came, Chris immediately decides to take the girl into his care. The blue eyes belonging to the human girl instantly wakes up the human side of Chris and she seems to wake up the rest of the band's human sides quickly.

You could easily say that Chris fell in love with Naomi the minute he first laid eyes on her; but Naomi remained completely oblivious to it, even as their friendship grew. Three and a half years later, Chris and Naomi have remained great friends. Naomi had since stopped doing merch and just sort of drifted from place to place - including crashing with Chris when she came into town. Now, however, she's looking to stay in one place for a while; and when Chris informs her that his roommate has moved out, Naomi sees her opportunity. Chris takes Naomi in with open arms, still hopelessly in love with her. He feared telling her his true feelings, out of fear that she wouldn't feel the same and that it would ruin the great friendship that they already had.
