At least he has Techno, his partner, who is only three years older than him, but he can't help but feel like the pink-winged avian could be a father. At least, until he realizes why that person wanted to protect him. And then he feels betrayed.

It takes twenty years for something to become obsolete. Mix's Tapes was supposed to be forever, the purpose to his life, but Mixtape's stubborn aversion to change destroyed the business that had become his livelihood. Without the store, he is forced to see things as they are. The world has moved on. He, and his talent, have been left behind along with cassettes and his delusional nostalgia. The new, modern Equestria is impossible to navigate; its creatures: unrelatable.
