Life does not end when high school does. You knew that.

But that does not make it easier - the testing, the schedules, the burnout. That's not to mention the responsibilities of extra activities, the constant socialization, the chores at home. All of that, and it still has not mentioned what you chose to do for your own club.

Because yes, you chose this. Sometimes it's hard to remember that.

Right now, as other students worry about their test in the morning, how they can make it look like they didn't cheat on their homework, and how to coast by in their worst subject, this was your world: the squeak of sneakers, the blowing of whistles, the chants of the crowd and the shouts of the players, the slamming of the volleyball against the wooden floor.

Right now, this was your world.

In the morning you'd have to worry about your test, your homework, and the class you dreaded.

But for right now, this was your world. Making it through this tournament, then to nationals... that mattered.

Life does not end when high school does. But then, why does it seem so important to get to Nationals before the end of high school? You knew why. He was the reason. He wanted it more than anything - and so to that end, you would do all you could to get the team there.

Welcome to Aeonian! This story takes place in the world of Haikyu. This is an xReader story. I utilize she/her pronouns, and on occasion refer to having hair - but that is the extent of physical descriptions. Don't expect a perfect representation of Japan, or school life there - I don't live there. But I'll do my best to make it realistic!
