The Other Half of Me

"You say Omegas can't be great, that they can't be boxers," Devon gets in my face, my anger rising with his own rising voice, "Yet after everything I've done to win, to persevere through all of this torment, to prove myself to everyone...! You still are the one fight that drives me crazy!"

I am shoved back, but I rush back at him and shove right back. Grabbing the cuff of his shirt, I pull him down towards my face as we glare into one another's eyes.

Despite the tension.

"I already know people like you-."

"You don't know anything!" He shouts now, taking me aback because he's never actually shouted before.

Pushing me away again, we just looked at each other. His eyes closing tightly as he sighed in frustration...𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘦. I found myself thinking, only to see his eyes set back onto me firmly.

"You...don't even know the other half of me. You don't know me at all."

a story about an Omega, Devon Volas, trying to prove himself in the heavyweight boxing world full of Alphas, and a famous father with a legacy. trying not to live off his father's legacy, proving himself, and breaking stereotypes that Omegas can't be boxers. while an Alpha, Lukas Ace, has gotten where he has, as a boxer, with his own merit. only to see that someone like Devon might take his place because of his last name alone. that causing hatred and resentment that can't be easily resolved, but with it comes brewing tension. neither of them willing to understand even the other half of each other, only the half they choose to see.

until something happens, that changes everything - for not only them both, but what they both will share together.
