I was seventeen years old when I was stabbed nine times at 261 Turner Lane. Inside Stu Macher's house.
While growing up in Woodsboro, I never felt endangered. Notably, I had never paid attention to the whispers permeating around me. I wasn't aware of the cavernous secrets locked inside my hometown or of the legacies that were so close to home.
It took seventeen years and a series of three days to understand what complete and utter betrayal felt like. Or to know how my fear could ricochet in a spiral in under seventy-two hours. I was so close to losing everyone; and in some way, I did.
