While suffering from social anxiety, he is falsely accused of assaulting one of his classmates.

 Leading to almost everyone in the town believing the girl's accusation, even his friends and family. Except his brothers, Toshiro and Akira Tokoyami

But someone from the shadows puts Toshiro in a coma, putting the blame on Yukari. Which makes Akira no longer able to see and talk to Yukari.

Then the town runs him out into hiding, thinking they did the right thing.
