Every year kids come and go from high schools across the world. Many students will stay put for their whole school careers, but some will move school to school periodically. GNGHS is no exception to this. Gray-New Gloucester High School is your average small-town high school: approximately 600 kids in grades 9-12 coming from all different social classes, backgrounds, and religions. There are the kids who are known for being "druggies", there's kids known for their athletics, musical talent, artistic talent, smarts and just about everything in between. 

The story I am about to tell you is nothing like what you've seen before. These seven kids are going to face trials that are very much so out of the ordinary for your average high schoolers. With each turn of a page they will find things out about themselves they never knew. Each of these kids have one very special thing in common that ties them together. Four of them have a secret no one else knows. Two of them have a history, while one of them knows everything that will happen before this story even begins. Mr. Blair is the teacher who helps this group find their way through not only regular teenager trials, but everything abnormal, uncontrollable and supernatural that they are going to go through together.

I wrote this as a novella for my senior English class, it's been a few years and after going back to reread it I decided to publish here and build on what I have for a story in hopes some may enjoy my writing.All Rights Reserved

When their mutual friend becomes hospitalized with a rare illness, they must embark on an adventure to the mystical Garden of Yllop to find the Eoz Potion, a mysterious medicine that can save their sick friend's life. Once in the Garden, they find themselves caught up in a conflict larger than either of them anticipated. They come under the attack of an army of mind controlled soldiers trying to keep them from the potion and kick them out of the Garden. They face an Evil Spirit that has taken control of the hearts of the once kind and caring people of Yllop. And they fight to restore the power of the true ruler of the Garden. The Search for the Eoz Potion explores the reasons why people will sometimes upend their lives and put themselves in harm's way in order to provide a better life for others. At its heart, this is a story about friendship and the power of sacrifice. In enduring all of these trials to help their friend, Hailey and Claire learn to trust each other and develop a confidence they didn't know they could find. This book was written as a project with my kids who were 10, 9, and 5 at the time. I had the basic idea and they filled in the details with things they thought would be interesting and exciting. I then tried to fit it all together into one story. The result is The Search for the Eoz Potion. Some monsters want to offer you a deal, and some, well, some just might end up your best friend. Others, they just want to eat you. Right now, I'm dodging homework and things trying to turn me into lunch. I'm gonna find a way out of this war and save my friends... or die trying--

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it.
