The young girl on the brink of tears vigorously shook the unconscious boy, while simultaneously yelling at him, begging for him to open his eyes, for him to be ok, for him to smile at her like always, but nothing seemed to work, as he still lay there not appearing to be a single ounce of life in him.
Side by side, they stood, always having each others backs no matter what came at them. Hand in hand, they overcame every challenge together when all of a sudden tragedy hits.
