Kayla Maybank has always been a Pogue, for better or worse. She drinks, does drugs, steals stuff she shouldn't, and god knows when she steals something from a Kook, and he freaks out getting her arrested. Until he realizes she can't afford bail of a mere $200. Plus a lawyer or even 1/8 if the cost of the money she stole, he knew she was screwed. 

He didn't care, until he saw her dad bailing her out and heading toward his car. And he saw something that was unimaginable, something so horrible that he felt like a total jerk. So he dropped the case, and she asked him why. 

"Because I fucking felt like it, Pogue. You should be grateful." 

                  "Grateful? Go to hell, Cameron!"
