"Who've you hired..." Eric sighs, pressing the alarmingly warm phone to the side of his face, squinting at his newly hired bodyguard.
Bright eyed, bushy tailed. An overgrown, too well-built puppy practically.
"And why" he finishes. He can almost see his bodyguard's, Kayden's, metaphorical tail stop wagging excitedly.
But Eric knows the expertly hidden knife in Kayden's belt buckle. Knows the aura of brute strength he's exuding. Knows the twitching muscles is just an itch from not being able to fight.
Eric knows why Kayden's here. He hates it. So he smiles lazily, ends the call and extends his hand in a welcoming gesture. Both Kayden and him know it means the opposite.
Kayden grins and takes Eric's hand,
"We'll have tons of fun"
