Eventually, her plotting paid off, and she succeeded in ousting her husband from the throne. However, her reign proved to be even more brutal and tyrannical than his had been. She had become so consumed by her desire for power that she would do whatever it took to maintain her grip on the kingdom, no matter how many lives were lost or how much suffering was inflicted upon her people.
