Lyna, a lone young warrior sorceress, roams the world, hunting and destroying evil objects known as the bane cores, objects she alone can locate using an innate and unique power.

Her next quarry lies in the isolated village of Tanasu, located at the edge of civilization and bordering on the Territories of Sij, the land of her ancestors. There, Lyna hopes to destroy another core and maybe find a place to call home.

But with each use of her strange ability, Lyna leaves behind a part of herself; a memory of her past, a remnant of her spirit, a piece of her strength and youth. And when she only finds death and a cursed land in Tanasu, Lyna starts to question if her efforts are making a difference and if there is any hope for this world, and for herself.

Now, Lyna must decide if she abandons her quest and leaves the world to fend for itself, or if she continues on what is becoming a hopeless fight, at the risk of surrendering her very soul.

Somehow, she's always felt drawn to the story of Vlad the Impaler, the historical character who allegedly inspired the writer, Bram Stoker, to write his Count Dracula. Annoyed by her noisy friends, she strolls behind her group when they enter the castle and thus gets approached by their tall dark and handsome guide. Samara can't fight the attraction she feels for him, even after he claims to be Vlad Dracul himself, obviously making fun of her...or? At the end of the tour, unable to resist her curiosity, she follows the guide through a dark corridor and time travels to another time, a late medieval world populated by very unusual vampires, where she had once belonged. Garley, a young boy, is constantly bullied by the arrogant students at Braghton College. But then a light at the end of the tunnel appears-or so he thinks-when he finds a gold medallion that teleports him to Kansnubra Island. The island is located in the Bermuda Triangle, and is the secret home of dragons, wizards, warriors, and adventures-a place where magic meets advanced technology. However, Garley's journey to return to his normal life will be long and hard, and the portal in the woods that could be his ticket home may not be reachable at all. The uncertainty will be great, but the adventures and friendships will be even greater. "You are stuck, Garley," said Aldrich, in his scratchy voice, looking at him with pity in his eyes. "There is no way off the island. In order to leave, we would need the portal. It is deep in the woods." "It's in the woods? Then let's go there!" Garley said. He would do anything to see his family again. "Don't be foolish! There are monstrous creatures in the woods. Besides, it is huge, and we do not know the exact location of the portal."
