The area was dead, tress withered, dry ground, not even the chirping of birds could be heard. The area had been known to be dangerous so much so that stories about its danger had become some parent's choice of bedtime stories. However, there were rumors of a miracle healer that lived deep within the lands, anyone who was sick could venture through the dead zone and potentially reach some kind of salvation. The story had been passed on and on, but there were never any results. Sick people would leave and never return, some healthy folk even went to try guide their way through the dead zone, but no one ever returned.
