Ty kisses Amy for the first time, then leaves her a letter & disappears. She's heartbroken and angry.
Four months later Ty shows up at
Calgary General Hospital, unconscious & beaten up by a gang of thugs. A nurse finds
Jack Bartlett's name & number in Ty's wallet and calls Heartland Ranch the night of Amy's 16th birthday party. Jack leaves the party unannounced and visits Ty. Jack returns to the hospital the next day and asks Amy to come.
