The character everyone envies by the end of the movie wasn't born like this. Events built up and he had a rough childhood. His father was very abusive of his sweet innocent mother and school wasn't better. He loved getting an education, and adored science, but was bullied for his differences.
Everything you see on the outside isn't always what they are on the inside.
