Cato x Reader
Listen, there will be some significant changes from the original HG books (obviously, otherwise, this would be boring). But this is still the 74th Hunger Games, The first significant change is you, Cato, and a few other vital tributes just turned 18. The beginning will seem a bit generic at first. However, if you try it and stick with it for the first few chapters, you may like it!
I love the HG series but don't own any rights to the original story I decided to make this in a weird way; I want to bring a new perspective to the HG and those deemed as bad guys and that no one is good or bad IRL.
Also, I wrote this because every Cato x Reader I read was making me want to gouge my eyes out like no way they could just fall in love so fast, and he quickly simps WE LOVE A GOOD SLOWBURN ROMANCE !!!

Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions of District 2, Cato Hadley and Clove Kentwell have trained their whole lives for the Games. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names. For the 72nd Hunger Games, the Mayor of District Two decides to change the selection of tributes to volunteer for the Games. A normal girl that went to the Academy to train to be a tribute like the rest of the kids of the District, but she was different. The only people who seem to see it are the Trainers of the Academy, her family, and of course the Victor of the 71st Hunger Games, Cato Hadley. And this seems to cause problems for her that she can't begin to comprehend, as she carries on with her life. But when the 72nd Hunger Games starts, Ash doesn't realize she will have to show her true nature in order for her to defeat the other 23 tributes. But is her talent and skills enough to get her through the games? Or will it fall short and put her with the other 23 tributes who didn't survive?
