"A story about uniqueness in one's disability." 10-year-old Penny Coin is a little different than all of the other kids in Object Town. At 8 months old, she was diagnosed with a neurological disability called Autism. She also has ADHD and Anxiety. Penny learned how to walk and talk later than everyone else, she has pretty sensitive emotions, and her rituals are JUST a little different. However, deep inside, she is a natural genius. In anything. One day, Penny finds out that she is going into the Goiky Spelling Bee, one of the largest spelling bees in the Object World. Penny is one of the best students in her English Language Arts class, so she is likely to win. How will this determine Penny's future? Will she succeed in life? Or will she succumb to failure, judging by her disability? In "Penny Coin", you will explore how Penny came into the world, and you will read the countless adventures of her and her Autism, including the spelling bee.

In the world we live in today, speaking seems to be the only way one knows how to communicate; as if it is the only way to communicate- or is it? There are many unique children, scattered around the world, who are labelled as, "special needs", or "autistic", or ADHD. And these labels usually come with a negative stigma attached to them. But, what if- what if these children were just... different? What if these children are here, to show us a different, and more unique way of living. What if they are not in need, of "special attention"? What if they are just: special. This fictional (or is it?) short story , is geared to change your perception about these children, and your view point on communication, and the way we as human beings- speak.
