In a world full of magical and non-magical people, the elves and fairies are being hunted down and killed by humans. The humans are afraid that the elves and fairies will use their magic to overtake them. However, the Elves and fairies use their magic to lock themselves in a pocket realm. The key is the only thing able to open the realm and allow the remaining Elf and fairy population to join them in safety. 

Kay (Kantyll) was only four years old when her village was invaded by humans, her brother and her best friend are killed and she is taken due to her strange appearance. With the ears of a human, but the most unatural eyes seen by anyone, Kay must survive the growing tension between the Fairies and the Elves, while managing  the problems of having the power to turn things to gold with the touch of her hands. Follow the Daughter of Midas as she is joined by others who share her goals and embark on a journey to help the world be peaceful once again.
