Ella Declour has never been one to venture outside of her comfort zone and lead an active "teenager" lifestyle. She has always remained inside and remained by the side of Anna, her closest and sole friend. It actually made no sense that they were so diametrically opposed yet so compatible. Being best friends was the only thing that made sense. Long before they could coexist. before they even realized. Their first semester at Bay State College in Boston, Massachusetts, sends them off to their first party. Veronica couldn't help but cringe at the thought, and ANNA didn't give her much of a choice. Was it the best decision to even consider going? Not at all, yet here they were. Only leaving Ella drunk and stumbling at her first party. Not only that, but she attracts the attention of a mysterious hot guy named Owen Black. That's all she remembers. So when she wakes up in an unfamiliar place the next morning with her clothes still intact, she can't help but feel relieved. However, Owen is not who he seemed to be. Stranded with a complete stranger, she can't help but ask him for a huge favor. He betrays her though, forcibly tying their relationship together in the hopes of saving her brother's marriage. Ella vows to never succumb to his charms again, feeling complete anguish. How long can she keep this up?

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.
