It had been many years since the King had thought about taking another to his bed. He suffered many long, lonely nights without his beloved Queen until, after his son leaves him, he cannot handle the silence and he finds himself seeking something in the arms of another.

When Eirien finds herself summoned to the King's chambers out of the blue, she is more than a little confused, but finds herself more than happy to serve her King despite the cost to herself. The biggest rule the King has for this arrangement is to not fall in love with him and it seems such an easy thing to just agree. The Queen may be dead and gone but they are still married and he will always love her, always be bound to her and Eirien knows this... but the more time she spends in his company, the more she gets to actually know him, the more she begins to realise that she has already fallen too deep.

As time continues to pass and Mirkwood continues to darken, the threat of Mordor creeping ever closer, Eirien finds herself at a complete loss. If she confesses, she will lose him for good, but if she keeps quiet, she will only further torment her already broken heart.

"You talk too much elf-boy," Arya muttered, her voice hoarse from all the screaming she had done due to the pain of her injuries. Legolas scrunched up his nose in disdain of the nickname, but a smile soon found his way onto his face. "I am not a boy." Her eyes opened then, and her familiar hazel eyes met his striking blue ones. A small smile made itself present on her face as she looked at him, a twinkle of mischief evident in her eyes. "No. You are not." ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ Arya woke up some years ago with a grey-haired wizard leaning over her. She had no memories, no indications that told her who or what she was. With the outer appearances of an elf, but eyes that flash orange and strange symbols that appear on her skin - no one seems able to tell her anything about her past. She joined the quest of Thorin's dwarven company to have something to do, and she quickly became a part of their group. After a long and arduous journey but still a far away from the mountain they stumble into trouble. The Elvenking is like a very strong, old tree, deeply rooted in the kingdom he pledged himself to protect. He also pledged himself to protect his heart from love, out of fear that it might weaken him, but that proved to be disastrous. Love...what daunting word rubbed in his face by that fearless redhead elleth during the battle in Dale. Is there any love left in him? Follows what happens with Thranduil and Tauriel after BOTFA, during the War of the Ring and further into the 4th Age. Mainly from Thranduil's POV and including canon events that are only briefly mentioned in the books. I try to respect the lore as much as I can. Feedback and comments are much appreciated :) "His words were unforgiving again, hiding under the same cold tone he had for centuries, yet he could not believe them himself anymore. Tauriel was looking at him, her gaze seemingly piercing through his soul. His dream to restore Mirkwood to Greenwood and his thoughts of avenging his beloved wife were contradicting everything he said. He did not want to care yet every fibre of his being cared too much." "There was something else that Thranduil noticed in Celeborn's eyes: a combination of respect and admiration. 'You are strong, Thranduil. You are like one of the old Mirkwood trees, deeply rooted in the earth, that the centuries cannot wither. I always thought that, no matter what evil lies upon Arda, you will endure.' The Moon Druid of Arcedia; And the One Ring to Rule Them All

25 parts Ongoing

~The Moon Druid of Arcedia; And the One Ring to Rule Them All~ Ahshala Urican, an elven druid from a faraway land, once again found herself in Middle-Earth fighting Orcs and Sorcerers with elves, humans, hobbits, and dwarves. This time no dragons were involved, although she would have considered that preferable to the giant eye said to be watching them on their journey to destroy Saruman Ring of Power. It's not just the Dark Lord she has to worry about, with her 'itch' becoming more frequent, and her transformations more painful, she can't hide the truth for long. What will she do when Legolas, a cherished friend, tries to help her? It's a tale of intrigue, curses, death, and love. There will be references and scenes taken directly from the books and the movies along with scenes I've written in entirety. I've tried to edit the book scenes to match how I describe things from each character's perspective so it is a little more flowy. Enjoy!!
