Sira wakes up to the ruins of society with no memory or knowledge of what happened, other than the name they're called by a disembodied voice just before they regain consciousness. A red mist blankets much of the earth and carries with it an unstoppable pathogen that transforms those that inhale it into reality-defying monstrosities dubbed "phantoms." Bizarrely, Sira demonstrates a never-before-seen immunity to this pathogen, and they are taken in by the CPC - one of the paramilitary organizations working to combat the mist and its monsters - for protection and for the purposes of research to stop the disease. Haunted by crimson-colored nightmares, it becomes clear that Sira's immunity is no coincidence, and their awakening sets in motion a downward spiral of events that prove the apocalypse is far from over.
