In the twelfth entry of the 2022-2023 film journal, I finally return to that dreaded planet of the apes with the third installment of the original series, "Escape from the Planet of the Apes".  Here, I recount my fandom of this special sci-fi series and discuss the elements that make this "Apes" tale different from all the rest.
