Village destroyed by Viggo and on the run on a moonless night, you land on what you think is deserted island. You couldn't be more wrong. Is there any chance of making it out of this? Will you be able to find friends in the unlikeliest of places? Will the Dragon Hunters win?
This is both a HiccupxReader story and a Hiccstrid story, but Astrid herself doesn't appear until the very end. If you've seen the episode, you'll know what I mean.
Heavily based in the RTTE episode: Stryke Out. This is my first story in over 10 years and my first fanfiction ever. Please enjoy and feel free to leave comments.

Two years later when Hiccup doesn't write back to Astrid and her letters start coming back to her she takes it upon herself to find him. What will happen when it Hiccup finds a new group of friends? Or when Astrid comes upon a new dragon and finds a family to call her own? What happens when a new enemy comes? Hiccup and Astrid's loyalty to their friends and tribes will be tested. Complete!!! Hiccup was always a nuisance to the vikings on Berk. He was viewed as a runt, a shame, and a screw up. That all changed when he became the top of dragon training, and finally gets the chance everyone thought he only dreamed of. To kill a dragon in front of the entire village. Stoick was proud of his son, he had almost lost hope in him. Now, he proved everyone wrong, or so they thought. Hiccup wanted nothing more than to have this chance his entire life! However, that was before he met and bonded with Toothless, a night fury he had shot down weeks ago. Now, he wanted to escape, but not without attempting to convince the vikings that dragons weren't the real threat. He thought his monstrous nightmare match would be the perfect setting for such a feat. When things go sideways, when Toothless saves Hiccup, he has a choice, stay and try one last shot of convincing Berk, or flee with his best friend. He chooses the best option, he flees. Now, he is branded as a trator, a renegade. Stoick practically disowns him and he is never heard from again. five years later, Berk hears mighty tales of a grand hero who rides a night fury. Many call him 'Night Rider', 'Dragon Tamer', and 'Mysterious Rider'. Many doubted that this hero could be their traitorous ex heir to the Berkian leadership. After all, he was described as having a prosthetic leg, very tall, confident, and extremely buffed, while Hiccup was the opposite of all these descriptions. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III a teenage Viking who earn the ranks to kill his first ever Dragon in Dragon Training. He could not kill it, he wouldn't kill it knowing himself having one of them as his own, never the less, he was afraid of losing his only best friend, Toothless. He would never trust and look at him the same way. So he decided to take matters into his on hands by running away or flying away from berk, not the best move but knowing he was know as the village runt or the Chief's screwup and would always get beat up for no valid reasons by his cousin and his friends, sure he pass every training with a prefect score but he still did not get the respect that he deserve from the villagers. If he so tried to convince them. No one would listen to him. Not even his own father. But he wasn't running away with just Toothless but with Astrid as well. After their romantic flied which also change her view on dragons, and their discovery of the red death, Hiccup was still planning to run away even though he have just finally friended an actual human, he decided to tell her so he don't have to let her worry about him leaving without a word in the next day. When he finish telling her his plan and surprisingly to hiccup and even Toothless she beg to come with and she also told him her reason. Turns out Astrid Hofferson was abused and pressured by her own family. She have enough of it, Hiccup didn't really have yes as his first nor second choice but she beg him until he gave up and let her tag along. What would happen to them?, will this new path that choose was path to a bright future?,will something spark between them? (Obviously). What would the village have to say about this?
