Uhtred and Y/n were born twins to the lord Uhtred of Bebbanburg. After the Dane's won the battle of Eoferwic the two were ransomed to the Earl Ragnar and brought up as if they were Danes. While living among their kind Y/n discovers she has a gift, which later, Ragnar informs her to be Odin given.
A few years later she dreams of a fire and is once again orphaned thanks to the men of the old ships master Kjartan. Uhtred and Y/n travel to Wessex to reunite with an old friend and end up swearing an oath to the new king Alfred.
After the battle of Edington, Uhtred and Y/n begin their travels north, where they are put to the test by the gods. Torture, pain, friendship and loyalty are all put to the test as the twins want nothing more than to fulfil their blood feud against Kjartan.
But never would she had dreamt of falling for Kjartans bastard son. Sihtric is loyal, tender and loving. It baffles and frustrates Y/n for she cannot figure out how he can be related to that turd of a man. Still she throws chance to the wind and allows her feelings to sway her towards the man who had captured not just her Iron heart but also her mind and her dreams.
