As she sat there, she could feel her cheeks warm. She knew it was him before she even turned around.

Aleksei was standing by the door looking at Aiyana when she turned around.  While she was reading, everyone else had been taken for testing, and Aiyana and Aleksei were the only two left in the room.  She could smell his wonderful scent and thought that must be what alerted her to his presence.  

"Are you ready?" Aleksei asked.  Though he wasn't speaking loudly, his masculine yet melodic voice filled the room.
