He always came across as an asshole, but deep down, there isn't a single thing he wouldn't do for those flying beside him."

     Blake's world has never been an easy one. After the loss of her brother, and with parents too closed off to care, she decided to escape her life and move across the country. She moves in with her Uncle in California and quickly has to adapt to the craziness of the Navy base. It's not long before she begins to form close relationships with some of the pilots who work there. However nothing could have prepared her for the whirlwind of a pilot, Jake Seresin. She fell for him hard and quick, and learned all too soon why he had earned the name "Hangman".

     Now that Jake is back in her life, albeit for a short while, she wants to figure out where exactly everything went wrong. Why he fled when he did. Despite knowing it isn't smart, Blake wants to give him a chance. But with Jake, nothing is ever easy.

     When disaster strikes on the mission, leaving Jake severely injured, he is forced to stay in California until he heals. Will they be able to reconcile their relationship? Or will the physical and mental injuries be too much for them to stand?
