Separated from her brothers, Rue was on the brink of death till found by a band of smugglers. They took the young girl underneath their wing and she'd accompany them, for four months, on their journey to the Boston QZ.

Before the age of ten, she had come to know the cold metal of a gun. At the age of ten, Rue has come to know how hopeless the world was. Looking back now, if you would have told her in four years, she'd find hope in the shape of an obnoxious, sheltered fourteen-year-old; she'd laugh in your face. How the tables have turned.

☾✯☽☾✯☽Ellie☾✯☽☾✯☽

Ever since birth, she was placed in an orphanage in Boston. All Ellie has ever known were the walls and ocean of the QZ; never once having the luxury to go beyond. A luxury she gained at the loss of another.

The fourteen-year-olds only serenity was the moon and the foreign concept of space. That was now replaced by the metallic clanking of chains and a barely-lit empty room. She was tied to Earth by the bounds of fate; a fate that cruelly stole her choice from her and it wouldn't be the only time in the shape of a broken man and a hopeless girl.

As fate had decided, she would come face-to-face with three smugglers. A woman named Tess, a man named Joel, and a fourteen-year-old girl named Rue.

Together they'd embark on a journey across the Us to find the fireflies facing the impossible, discovering themselves, and finding love amongst the ensuing chaos.

~Or~

The hopeless and the hopeful come together on a journey across the United States to find a cure that will save the world from fungi-eating infected.

Laura knew the dangers of her world. Between Cordyceps and the survivors, she often wondered how she'd made it twenty years. Lacking a purpose, she acted as a FEDRA plant for the Fireflies before she became the guardian of an immune kid. Ellie. But, of course, her life wasn't challenging enough already. And so, to stay with her kid she'd have to work with 'Texas'. He was a reminder of why it was dangerous to let people in - a reminder of her biggest regret. Joel never forgot 'Quebec', a person with whom he'd shared parts of himself he never wanted seen. It was safe to do so with her, because they'd agreed never to share their real names. It was a failed attempt at emotional detachment, which was why he'd never admit how much it hurt when she'd left four years ago. But when they have to cooperate to get Ellie across the country, he's confronted with their entwined history. Joel just wants to survive long enough to find his brother, and all he can do is prevent Laura from pulling him in again. He didn't realise he was already drowning until they made code words. 'Silver' meant 'help'... God help anyone that made Laura say 'silver'. ||Joel Miller Fan-Fiction - The Last of Us|| ||basically a season 1 rewrite with a new OC and an epilogue correction to what will happen in season 2 iykyk - 🏌‍♀️|| ||canon-typical violence, swearing, and trauma I guess|| ||complete - undergoing edits|| notable rankings: #1 in joelmiller #1 in tlou #1 in thelastofus #1 in mutualpining #1 in foundfamily

Violet was born in the apocalypse, where mold infects people and makes them go crazy and turns them into zombies, and they have only one goal, to destroy the human race and take over the world. Violet was captured by Fedra, when they discovered her condition and Fedra holds her and does the most horrible things to her, to test their theories, to see if she really is immune to the disease that is destroying the human race and little by little, Violet loses herself and after a while she doesn't recognize herself anymore, when she looks in the mirror she only sees a girl, with an empty look in her eyes, whose soul seems to have left her body and only leaves a shell, of the girl she once was. Daliah is a 38 year old woman in the apocalypse and lost her son to Fedra, when her son was barely two years old and therefore not old enough to remember his mother and since the day that Fedra took her son from Daliah, the woman has only 1 goal and that is to find her son and kill the people who took her son from her, just because her boyfriend at the time, thought she was not fit to be a mother in the apocalypse and thought she was going to neglect her son, but Daliah will not rest, until she puts a bullet through the head of the man who took her son, and all the people who helped him, and Daliah only knows one emotion, anger, nothing else, not since her son was torn from her arms. But everything changes when Daliah meets Joel Miller, a man who lost his daughter the day the world ended and has been closed off ever since and barely speaks to anyone except her and a woman named Tess and through a stupid misunderstanding it happens that Joel, Daliah and Tess have to take two girls to the fireflys and those girls are Ellie and Violet and they might just change the course of the world.

They've been walking for days. The kind of walking that eats at your spine and leaves your thoughts screaming louder than the silence. After getting sidetracked by crumbling colonies and empty promises, Joel and Ellie are running low-on food, on bullets, on hope. That's when they see her. Alone. Hunched behind the rusted corpse of a car, hoodie drawn tight, one hand clenched around a blade that's already seen too much use. She doesn't beg. Doesn't speak at first. Just looks at them like she's deciding whether to fight or bleed out. Joel raises his gun. She doesn't flinch. "Go ahead," she says, voice flat. "Wouldn't be the worst thing that's happened to me." Ellie shifts. Joel doesn't lower the weapon. Not yet. They let her stick around-just for the night. That's what they tell themselves. She doesn't talk much, eats less. Sleeps with one eye open and a blade under her pillow. There's something broken in her. Not the kind you fix. The kind that cuts if you get too close. But they keep walking. And she keeps following. No one asks why. There's a story behind her silence, behind the bruises she won't explain and the nightmares that make her choke on her own breath. Joel sees it-he's lived it. Ellie feels it-like a weight shifting in their trio. A new presence. A new threat. Or maybe something else. They don't trust her. Not really. But they know better than to leave someone behind just because they're haunted. The world took everything from her-and what's left is sharp, angry, and dangerous. For a few days, they're not two-they're three. But nothing stays whole in this world. Not for long. TW

Yn Servopoulos is Tess' younger sister. She was only fifteen when the Cordyceps outbreak happened on September 26, 2003. Four almost five years into the outbreak, when she's nineteen, she and Tess meet two brothers, Joel and Tommy Miller. They team up with them and fight together until they reach the Boston QZ. Over the years, yn grows a crush on the eldest brother, Joel. But she hides her crush because, one, He's older than she is; Joel was 32 when the outbreak happened; she was only fifteen. That makes him seventeen years older than her. Now, that didn't really bother her much, at least not in this world. Joel was strong and fearless, or at least he seemed to be fearless. He knew how to take charge, and he protected the ones he cared about. The second thing was that yn was at least eight percent sure Joel and her sister were in some kind of relationship. Third of all, she was definitely sure the man hated her. What she failed to realize was that Joel did like her; he liked her more than he thought he should. She's younger than him. She was only a couple of years older than Sarah. Then there was the fact that she was Tess' sister. He considered Tess a friend. He's might go as far as to say she's best friend. They grew closer because of the similar trauma they suffered from the outbreak. He lost Sarah, and Tess lost both her husband and her little boy. He made it his mission to keep yn at a distance, not too distant, though. He still looked out for her and had the strong feeling to always protect her. And he never failed to feel angry or jealous when another man got too close. When twenty years into the outbreak they find themselves smuggling a fourteen year old girl out of the QZ to get her to a lab because she's immune and could be the key to a cure, they lose Tess on the way, leaving them to only have each other. Secrets come out, and feelings become confused and awkward.
