Prince Keefe is forced by his parents to host a Selection, in order to calm the people down from the riot around them called the Neverseen.
Hundreds and hundreds of girls and yet Keefe has to narrow it down all to one girl. Keefe never wants to fall in love. He does not believe in that garbage.

Yet he can't control that, all of his beliefs in why love is so horrible changes when he meets a gold flecked brown eyed girl. 

Unfortunately for him, love does him evil. The girl he knows he wants, he can never have.
