"If our positions were switched, if it had been you who hatched early in that labyrinth, would our fates be different? Would I have your life and you mine?"

Mirei stared at Feirune after she finished musing. Light violet orbs clashed with ruby red as the two draconic monsters stared at each other. The Vice-Commander's hands found themselves instinctively traveling behind the guard of the Murasama, battle ready and prepared to fight at a moment's notice.

"Maybe," The Dark Wyrm replied, her muscles tense as she too, was prepared to fight against the samurai. "Perhaps if I had been the one who hatched early in the Labyrinth, I would be trotting the down you took and you would walk down mine. Maybe I would also be in your exact place, asking the exact same thing. But, that is not now. Right now, I am the Hero's familiar and you're the Vice-Commander of the Demon Lord's Tenth Army. Right now, we are enemies."

Mirei nodded at Feirune's declaration. Perhaps in an alternate universe, she would be "Feirune" and Feirune would be just Rosemary. But the Dark Wyrm is right, that is not now. Now, they're enemies fighting for their respective sides.

After a mutual nod of respect, the two fighters dashed toward one another. Sparks flew as steel clashed with reinforced claws. Both combatants are giving their all as there was too much to lose if they were to fail.

So similar yet so different, welcome to Dark Mist: A Lily's way. A story that explores what would happen if two characters were to change places with one another.

Had anyone cared for him when these wounds were fresh? "You are staring again." He commented, his voice neutral. Eden swallowed, biting her lip anxiously, "And you are shirtless." She replied, her voice equally as monotone. "Aye, I am." He nodded, "But that is not why you stare." "I do not stare with pity if that is what you are suggesting." She quipped, "I have seen enough pity in my life I would never put that upon anyone else." "Yet still you stare." His green eyes appeared to sparkle as his lips curled into a knowing smirk, "You may not know why little flower, but you are staring all the same." ~•~•~ Samuel Cairn was a formidable warrior, his hands stained with blood and his soul marked and scarred.
