A lot of times life doesn't end up the way people picture it. Ashton had always accepted he wouldn't have kids. He had Gabi, and enough family to keep him happy- until he was told he would be a good dad and couldn't shake the thought.
Alyssa had always accepted life as it was. It wasn't a fun or a happy life but she was alive, so she saw that as living- until the accident, which sent her away from everything she knew and loved.
And then they both accepted things hadn't worked out with this new change.
But it turned out all it took was the right person for them to really understand what living was.
