Sticks and stones
may break my bones,
but words words will
always hurt more.
There is always a bullied.
A bystander may not see them, or know them. But the bullied is always there, in the background. Sometimes right in front of you.
The bullied of Bridleway High has a name, though no one uses it. Her name is Oakley Mirza. No one touches her, of course, no one would dare lay a finger on her, but they don’t need to. She is driven into the ground by their words. They have left her defenseless, just with the simple syllables that form simple words, which mean so much more to her.
There is more to her than they could ever possibly imagine, but they don’t care.
Being a ‘mute’ doesn’t help her case much, either.
Fang Westbrook is the school's 'bad boy'. He's not the typical popular kind, though. He glares at everyone who looks at him, is avoided by everyone, and has only one friend.
Yet, he's still used as a sort of 'cool' pass. If Fang Westbrook is at your party, then your party is cool. If he looks at you, then you're cool. He doesn't care about this, of course, because he doesn't care about anything. No one knows of his dark past, and he's determined to keep it that way.
What happens when they both are forced to attend the same masquerade dance for the school, and are somehow pushed to dance with each other without knowing who the other is?
Well, bullies and bullied may be different, but as everyone knows, opposites attract.

Oh, and enjoy the book.
:P
"You're mine. And I don't think you wanna go against that." Her eyes dangerously darkened.
He gulped, and nodded a yes.

Everybody has a story. And sometimes, these stories go unnoticed and untold. Even if it's that hard-core and determined badass girl from the school or the one who stays hidden in the shadows with books piled up right in front of him.
In a normal high school filled with players, jocks, Heartbreakers and badass personalities, a boy with blue eyes, gel soaked brown hair and adorable face gets claimed by the most feared girl in leather jackets.
Lucas Clark was not your average teenage boy. Mean it, he was not. All around you could see boys of his age probably flirting, playing games, hanging out with friends and throwing parties like their life depended on them. But he was a nerd. He was a straight A student.
And she was the bad girl of the school, Claire Cooper.
When one meet turns out to be Claire claiming him hers, he is left devastated and knowing that not to mess with "The Claire Cooper", Lucas has no option but to give in.
And when the complications arise, they are shattered but they find themselves in a better place than when he felt like he was practically being attacked by the bad girl of the school.
