"Well, Haylo, I'm proud to tell you that your condition has greatly improved and we can finally discharge you! Yay!" That sentence only took seven years for Haylo to hear. Seven long years stuck in the walls of a hospital, all because she has, and I quote, "Stupid asthma." Her condition was diagnosed when she was one and now she's seven, and hasn't left the hospital more than once a month, if that, because she was in such bad shape. And now? Now she's free to go. But one problem. A major one. Haylo doesn't have parents or a family at all. They gave her up for adoption when she was born and being on the verge of death doesn't exactly make one a good adoption candidate. The severity of Haylo's condition granted her a wish from the Make A Wish Foundation and that wish is about to be granted. Her wish is to meet the one and only Taylor Alison Swift.

What happens when Taylor arrives the day before Haylo gets discharged and discovers that without parents or a family of any kind, Haylo is to be put in an orphanage and placed in the foster system? From her light blonde hair like Taylor's when she was younger, to her mismatched eyes, to her frosty pale skin, to the way she holds her teddy bear close for comfort, and finally to the smile that doesn't seem to leave Haylo's face, Taylor just can't help falling head over heels for the little one. The moment that she's supposed to leave Haylo is the moment when Taylor decides that she can't leave. She just couldn't go on in her life without Haylo. She's attached to the thought of that little girl being hers and can't fathom the possibility of her belonging to anyone else. So to solve that, Taylor adopts Haylo.

Was Taylor thinking about the fact that she and her long term boyfriend just broke up? Not entirely. Was she thinking about the fact that her biggest tour yet starts next week? Not much. Was she considering Haylo's asthma and how the tour might affect it? A little. But really all that was on her mind was Haylo being hers.

The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" - Mark 4:38 When Rose told Jack she would never let go, Abigail may have taken it to heart a little too much. Chase Jones. The name alone fills her with dread, and Abigail is pretty positive she'll hold this hatred in her heart until the moment she takes her final breath. Not only was he her personal bully for years; he was also the son of her father's military commander, making her seem like easier prey. But things take an unexpected, one-hundred-and-eighty degree turn when she stumbles upon a secret he tried so desperately to keep hidden. She begins to dream of life in foster care through the eyes of a little boy who wants nothing more than to experience unconditional love. To him, it would be like living in a fairytale. The kind of fairytale Abigail has lived in her entire life. After hearing about a family in need, Abigail finds her heart breaking for whoever they might be. Being the helper that she is, she decides to volunteer herself, but soon discovers just who she signed up to help. She knows this won't be easy. What she has yet to fully grasp is that, just as every storm has a starting point, every person has a story, and every story has at least one storm.

TW: this book may contain mentions of violence and of suicide. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. Everyone is quick to misjudge and point fingers, everything and everyone is so corrupted that she's afraid she'll lose herself among a bunch of wandering, empty souls. Therapy can only help so much, depression is hard to die, and in Lynn's case it's caused solely by the fact she doesn't 'fit in'. She can't really find her place in the world. But there's something really special about her; Her dreams are haunted by a wonderful, mystical place. No one understands her, they think she's off her rocker, that she needs to cut her childish daydreams. But Lynn knows deep in her heart that place really exists, and she'll do anything to find it, with the help of some new found friends. There's only one thing she must do: Keep an open mind, it brings open hearts and open eyes. -- DISCLAIMER #2 This fanfiction is inspired to Mind Over Matter by Pvris and their lyrics in general. All you read here is fiction. every reference to real events or people is purely coincidental. I do not own the songs featured in the book. Credit to Pvris for the titles of the chapters. 2015 © Run-Dont-Walk

When you're a seventeen-year-old girl with anxiety disorder and a gorgeous, popular girl that absolutely hates your guts for who-knows-what reason bullying you whenever she gets the chance, Anna Falls has no choice but to face reality.... her life sucks. But the little sparks of hope that build up her optimistic, bright soul convince her otherwise. She will always think of one thing and that there is hope in life. Maybe even a goal. It might not be visible now, but she knew that it became as clear as a bell when she ran into Luke Carter. Twice. In one day. Second time being literally into him. -- "How about fifty-fifty?" I offer in ragged breaths. "We could have just done this from the beginning," he replies, breathing heavily. We both chuckle. I gaze into his green eyes. "Your eyes are really beautiful," I blurt out. "I know," he smirks. "Are you always that egotistic?" "It depends," he answers, pushing my hair behind my ear. I smile at him. "You're welcome then." "I never said thank you." "And I said you're welcome.
