Eddie pondered on the offer, reaching for his mug again to swirl around the contents a few times before taking a small sip. He needed to stop hiding. Stop running. These people who risked their lives to get him home, to make sure he stayed alive and cleared his name deserved the real him, not this scared boy who's taken residents within himself. He owed it to the kids to not hide away anymore. Maybe if he showed himself Dustin would stop calling his house every hour. Wayne would appreciate that. He did miss Steve.
"Alright."
Nancy raised an eyebrow to him, waiting for him to continue.
"What time are we going to the mall tomorrow?"

Steve(21) Hasn't had a chance to leave this awful place. He has stayed around for the kids, wanting nothing more to be there for each one's graduation. Confused. Lonely. Depression has really started to hit in the last couple of years after all of the tragic losses to the upsidedown. Nearly losing everything and everyone he's cared for and loved. Most everyone has gotten their chance to escape, Nancy and Jonathan moved to California after graduation. Robin's off at college. Until he realizes maybe he's not so alone here, sparking a true friendship with the most unlikely person, Eddie Munson. Eddie(22) hasn't been able to get out of this town either after swearing he would get the hell out of here many years ago. The kids are all graduating this year, which will most likely end up giving the two now men, no reason to stick around anymore. But what will happen to the two friends when Steve realizes the feelings he's thought for so long to just be a platonic friendship have always been a little more? I do not own rights to the ST characters or themes but I do own rights to my own storyline. I will be using pictures from artists that I find as the art for each chapter. Tw: 5 stages of grief but really really intense (i think) i'm not sure what else i don't really have this planned out i'm just kinda going with it a lot of trauma and mental breakdowns gore and descriptions of pain and like immense grieving (bc obviously... after season 4 like what do u expect) in this story everyone is fine, except for phycological trauma obviously, except for Eddie. Max lives, the town doesn't shatter and crack, it's all fine and dandy. Eddie is dead, everyone is heartbroken and no one knows how to really cope with it. Especially Steve. Dustin was able to convince Steve to have a movie night and during that time, Steve realizes he starts to develop feeling for Eddie and tells him... He wasn't okay...a guy who he thought he had not one connection to only to have the biggest connection to was dead and he was only now feeling it.
