You are a gray toad, an anomaly in the Mushroom Kingdom where the vibrant colors of your kin are the norm. Most toads are brimming with energy and chatter, but not you. You've always been more introverted, often wandering inside the kingdom in solitude, content in your quiet life, but you still hang with around with them.
That is, until Princess Peach starts to notice you. Intrigued by your quiet nature and unique appearance, she finds you different from the rest; you were special.
Things take an unexpected turn when one fateful day, Bowser kidnaps you in your sleep. But as he leaves you for a bit, you were dragged through a mysterious pipe that leads you to different dimensions within the Mushroom Kingdom.
Each world you find yourself in is a warped, nightmarish reflection of your own, with uncanny versions of Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and others. These alternate realities are not as you know them; they're broken, twisted, and haunted by their own despair.
As you navigate these strange and unsettling dimensions, it becomes your mission to bring some semblance of warmth and hope back to these fractured versions of your friends.
Your journey is one of healing, showing them kindness, love, and perhaps even redemption in the hopes that, together, you can restore them to happiness and bring them home to your dimension, the only place you know where there's peace.
