"Are you stalking me?" His deep voice asked. "You wish, that would mean I actually thought about you enough to wonder where you are." I looked away smugly. Max moved closer to me until his face was right in front of mine. "You're saying you don't think about me?" He smirked, fully knowing what the proximity was doing to me. "I don't, why? Did you want me to?" I Regained my composure as I moved even closer, our lips nearly touching. ~~~ Alexa is a normal girl who just wanted to get through school without any trouble. She didn't want any attention. She just wanted to leave those nightmares behind, forgetting what happened before. However, all of that changes when her mum gets married and she's forced to move to a new city. Leaving everything behind, she hopes to blend in and go to university but life has other plans. In the woods, lurking in the shadows is someone who can't stay away and will definitely ruin all of Alexa's plans and change her life showing her that things aren't always as they seem. How can two people that hate each other be mates? To add to the mix, parties, late night discussions and a school trip is sure to add drama to her life. Warning: this story is sometimes very cliché and has a few of my own twists on it. The guy might make you cry, laugh or blush and wish guys like him existed in real life. (Well, at least further into the story.) This story contains swearing and some slightly mature content. You have been warned. Best rankings: - #2 humanxwerewolf - #1 gift ~This is my first story and I hope you will give it a chance!~ I promise it will get better. After an accident in eighth grade, Louisa Kelley was blind. Every day was a struggle for her as she tried to adjust to life both at school and at home, but life got easier with practice. As soon as Louisa entered high school, things had changed for the worse. The students around her bullied her because she was different, harassing her, stealing her things, and talking about her behind her back, making an already difficult life so much harder. Now in her junior year of high school, Louisa is broken and without anyone to call a friend. She eventually decides to remove herself from the bullies that surround her daily and be home schooled. That is, until she met Alex. Alex Mirren was born deaf, but when he was six years old, he received a cochlea implant that allowed him to hear. Even after the ten years of speech therapy where he had to teach himself how to hear, Alex prefers to stay in the silence and only communicates with the world when necessary. Life seemed dull to him as he was stuck in between two worlds of silence and noise, not knowing his purpose or place in society. That is, until he saw a girl with a walking stick in the hallways. Louisa and Alex weren't made for each other. Although the very presence of each other gives them new hope and strength, things are difficult as Louisa thrives by using her hearing, while Alex shies away from sound and uses sight. Without being able to communicate easily, they must learn to overcome the barrier of the silence between them, which is easier said than done. But aren't the struggles worth it to be with that one person that means everything?

"I've been silent for so long and it cost me you... My love, my only love...But not anymore... My heart could no longer remain silent for what it feels for you, Lyra!" Alex leaned in, his lips brushing against mine, holding my body close to his. And the whole time, I was drowning in his ocean blue eyes, those eyes that were always filled with love and determination whenever it meets my boring gray ones. At this moment, I could no longer recognize the shy and quiet Alex Di Luca I've always known. "So either be mine or let me be yours." *** Lyra Valera is a passionate and hardworking 20 year old single mother. Her world revolves around her 4 year old son. She was once the girl who seemed to have it all, but everything and everyone she held dear in her heart disappeared in a snap after the boy she thought loved her broke her into pieces. "Being mute isn't a disability. It just means that God loves you so much that He took away your voice so that you don't hurt others verbally. You see, He doesn't want you to do what others are doing to you." ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ When Sierra Bloom suffers a tragedy that costs her both her family and her voice, she shuts down every bit of emotion and passion within her and brings out a new and cold her that doesn't like being around people and things that are easy to get attached to. Mama told me that I was a beautiful girl when I was little. Mama said that I had the prettiest tan skin, soft wavy black hair, and the most enchanting emerald eyes. She always called me her bundle of joy. Then she got very sad when she told me that I didn't have a voice. I was only two at the time. I didn't understand any of the former English gibberish. Mama looked like she wanted to cry every time I opened my mouth to let out what was supposed to be a small giggle of joy. Or when I wanted to say her name and Papa's name. But no sound would ever come out, and I was a very confused little toddler until the very first day of kindergarten. © Copyright 2016 Yuan S.C. HIGHEST RANKING #221 in Short Story 3/17/19.
