childhood bestfriends → rivals .. "Maria! Where are you going? It's freezing out here!" I carried on walking, this time at a quicker pace as I heard his footsteps approach me.
"Go away Nicholas."

His footsteps stopped for a moment. I sighed, my shoulders falling as I spun around, arms crossed. I'd never called him Nicholas unless I was mad at him.

The cold winter breeze made every hair on my arms stick up. I didn't bring a jacket and my apartment was on a few blocks away. "What do you want?" I muttered, my eyes wandering to every place but him, "I'm not standing out here all night."

As I said that, he started walking toward me slowly, "What's your problem Ria?" I shook my head and laughed, "Don't play dumb with me, you know 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 what my problem is jackass." He smirked, "Don't tell you're jealous."

I scoffed, turning back around and starting to storm off. Knox grabbed my shoulder, spinning my back around and placing his hands on my hips to steady myself, lifting one hand and grabbing my chin, "I'm 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴. You know I'm yours, Ria."
