"Don't worry, your wife is absolutely fine. Nothing has happened to her."

Hearing this gave me some relief, but as soon as the doctor continued, I was completely stunned.

"And your baby is also perfectly fine. Both the mother and the baby are safe, so don't worry."

I was shocked, unsure if I had misheard or if the doctor had made a mistake.

"A little bleeding during early pregnancy is normal, but your wife has experienced quite a lot of bleeding, which is not normal at all. We've taken her blood test, and the reports will be available in an hour. We've given her some medication, which has brought her out of danger for now, but further treatment will be decided after the reports come in. Until then, please stay here." The doctor explained to me.

As the doctor started to leave, I quickly stopped her.

"What are you saying? I mean... what are you telling me? My wife...my baby? I am not able to understand anything."

My voice trembled, and I had no idea what I was saying. The words just poured out of my mouth on their own, and I couldn't grasp anything at that moment.

The doctor looked at me with some confusion.

"What don't you understand, sir? I told you, your wife and your baby are both safe."

I immediately asked, "Baby? Baby? I don't understand, doctor."

The doctor looked at me again, puzzled, and after a pause, she said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe your wife hasn't told you yet, but your wife is five weeks pregnant. To put it simply, you're going to be a father. And at this moment, both your wife and baby are fine. Now, do you understand? You can go see your wife if you'd like to, although she's still unconscious."

With that, the doctor left, and I just stood there, frozen in place. What just happened? Was what the doctor said true? Is Siya really pregnant? Am I going to be a father? Is all of this real?

Then I remembered that night, and suddenly, everything made sense. My vision became blurry!
