Who or what where the Nephilim mentioned in the Book of Genesis? A question that has been asked by scholars and theologians since antiquity.
A sci-fi short story.
Various interpretations for the meaning of their name and their story have come and gone over the years. Up until the 1st century CE, the common view was that they were angels who rebelled against God, and thus were cast out of heaven and fell down to the Earth. It was also the view then, that the biblical flood was punishment by God for their rebellion.
"The Nephilim were on the Earth in those days, and afterwards still, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, who bore children to them; They were the heroes from the world of the peoples of God."

Everything in the world was fine, perfectly okay, at least it was until a woman fell from the sky. At that moment the world fell silent, and that was when hell tore itself from the ground. Creator: Friend or Foe?
This story began as a NaNoWriMo 2012 work, with no planning, and even less idea of plot. I learned from that experience that I am not a 'pantser' -and spent about 20 painful months trying to turn my stream-of-consciousness 3-stories-in-one into one coherent novel, following the timeline and events in the Book of Genesis. I discovered that that is not a great way to build a plot. I ended after 5 more drafts, at about 60k words. There is another draft on my blog, slightly longer, a bit more experimental.
