But Kard is not the fantasy world from a storybook, it's a card game kingdom, hidden in the folds of Blake's world. When she begins learning of the prophecy and what her fate entails, she's no longer a nobody, but rather the savior tasked with saving the kingdom from utter ruin. While in Kard, Blake relies on Kaleb for support, the dark and mysterious prince, but the obvious secrets he keeps makes Blake wonder if there's more to him than what's on the surface. Twisted with feelings of wanting to be the savior everyone needs her to be and the worry that she's not good enough to win the war, Blake questions if she can do this. She has to rewire everything she knows about herself, hoping that what she finds is enough to save a kingdom.
