''We've been together for so long and I know my heart will never be the same. I don't know if I can trust anyone after all the broken promices I've suffered from. But I'm telling myself I'll be okay. Still, isn't it funny how the memories you cherish with someone, can become your worst nightmares afterwards? The thoughts you loved to think about, the memories you wanted to hold up to the light, it suddenly seems a lot safer to lock them in a box, far from the light of day and throw away the key. So, the real question is will I ever find someone different, someone who I can trust to never ever hurt me the way they did?'' The following short story is about two young lovers suffering a breakup. Their love didn't last the way they wanted, and their dreams and plans are now slowly getting forgotten. The heartbroken author talks about his lover's choice to leave as if it were a funeral.
