In a world where vampires exist, humans had never been more petrified. Why? Because if a vampire scratches you, you become marked. Being marked is a sign from one vampire to another that screams "their territory". To humans, this is not a good sign. Being marked can mean many different things such as death, territory, and being mated. Being mated has to be the worst of all. Atleast to Isabelle Courtier it is.

Isabelle Courtier is an ambitious and powerful person. Isa was 'born' from two abusive parents, but that didn't stop her from being fearless to everything and everyone. Except one thing. Getting mated to a vampire. You see, Isabelle hates the fact that more powerful beings can "force" her to be their mate. She just wants to chose her own path rather than having bloodsucking monsters force it instead. She also hates another thing... Julian Bearoux.

I looked at him. Weirdly, I felt drawn...almost like a moth to a flame.
"Do I know you?" I asked. I felt weird, almost like I knew him even though I didn't.
"No Isa, you don't" he gave me a smug smirk. He definitely isn't telling me something.
He walked closer, and were met face to face. I squirmed a bit, it was weird being almost nose-to-nose with someone I barely knew. I blinked once, then twice, and everything went black as he quickly snapped my neck.

Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!"
