They didn't have the gentle grace and calm demenor that angels do; they were defiant, ruthless, and far to eager for battle. As they lay, unconscious and bleeding, the last bit of God-like resistance and healing genes faded from them, leaving them good as human, except for the large black wings that they could bring out at will.
