I woke to a crash, which probably meant mom was home. I jumped out of bed the cold December draft stinging my bare arms and back. I ran into the kitchen where mom was standing over Vikky. I could smell the alcohol seeping form her pores and Vikky was on the ground not moving. Lidiya was slowly padding up behind mom, tears streaming down her face, a shallow gash across her shoulder. She was holding a knife and I realized too late what she was going to do.
Siblings, Stephan (Steph) and Lidiya (Lyd), killed their mother and who are now being hunted. they slowly expand their group with others who were running while on the quest to finding their not so dead father. Along the way the siblings make friends as Lidiya falls for a boy and Stephan gets his heart broken... again
