[ON HOLD] Carmen relished everyone's misfortune; better yet, she was the author of it. After a childhood filled with hardships, conning people as a faux tarot card reader was the easy way out, and Carmen takes it. Being the bootstrapper that she is, she goes the extra mile and makes her readings come true. She always gave a negative reading as it was trouble-free to bring about than the latter. On one such typical evening, everything comes crashing down. She learns secrets that she isn't supposed to, creating a domino effect. Now, she's trapped in a strange room with three rebels by a deranged man. She must keep her job a secret but that isn't feasible; all their lives are at stake and not all will live to tell the tale. We were a whole group of friends. And yet, I was feeling so lonely. It was hard to trust the others knowing that one of the players of this deadly game of cards would do anything to kill us... With all the revelations, treasons, and breath-taking clever strategies, would I be up to the task? Warning: this fiction is a thriller, but still contains two/three scenes that may be offensive to young audience. No worries, I will add a warning just before each passage involved. Inspirations: I was highly inspired by the French game The Werewolves of Millers Hollow, itself based on the game Mafia. I also had the idea for this novel while listening to the song "Lily" by Alan Walker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTJbE3sfvlI). To finish, my friends can feel some Danganronpa and La Casa de Papel vibes in the story. I therefore invite all these two series' lovers to read it! Big thanks to Théo and Lilith676 for this amazing cover *-*
