This poem is to sum up my thoughts and feelings in response to the past 94 self-immolations in Tibet. Tibetans of all ages (as young as 16), professions (monks, students, working class), genders, and backgrounds (mothers, fathers) have chosen to end their lives in the most unfathomable nature to symbolize their utmost defiance of the Chinese occupation.

A collection of poems and song lyrics. All original. Some prompted through in-class assignments most of these were written from 13-16 years old during a time that I lived in my own mind. I wanted to live in a fantastical version of my reality to avoid trauma. Some of these poems romanticize my harmful coping mechanisms, because that's what I did at that time. Dharamshala, India, home of the Tibetan community in exile. 2012 was a year in which documented abuses of human rights reached alarming heights within Tibet. At the same time, there were an unprecedented number of self-immolations as individual Tibetans made a fiery protest against the erosion of their language, religion, culture and freedom. I was there in Dharamshala, India, as the tragic year unfolded. But amazingly, amidst the sadness there was humour, compassion and a determination to continue the Tibetans' non-violent struggle for freedom. πππππ πππππ is an ongoing book and collection of poems and sonnets made by me, inspired by my thoughts, dreams, and personal experiences. As someone who lives with depression and anxiety, a lot of my thoughts are bound to not be very pleasant. But hey, some of them are quite philosophical and positive. But that's rare. Join me on my journey through sadness, happiness, curiosity, mystery, and so much more. I was inspired to make a collection of my poems, and I decided to just do it.
