Jonah Lorenz had his life mapped out, more or less. Late-night talks with his best friend. Quiet mornings on campus. Maybe, if the timing was right, a little bit of love someday. But when his best friend Ajax sends him a cryptic message before dawn, Jonah steps into something that doesn't quite feel real. There's a strange girl waiting in the mist. She knows things she shouldn't. She looks at him like she's seen him before. And she terrifies him. Then the next day, she's there again on campus, in his lecture hall, like she belongs there. Like nothing happened. Follow the journey as Jonah, Ajax and the mysterious girl tries to make sense of the weird occurrences happening around them. Some stories don't begin at the beginning. And some strangers feel like they've been with you all along.

Jonah knows he's got one last chance. If he can put his past behind him and keep a lid on his temper, he might get some exams, he might even get to train as an athlete. He doesn't hold out much hope. Nothing is going to divert Jess from her goal. She just has to tolerate one more year of school and then she can immerse herself in maths at one of the world's most prestigious universities. She's never had a problem with keeping her focus. So why is Jonah Taylor so distracting? Jonah couldn't ever be interested in a girl like Jess. Jess could never fall for a boy like Jonah. But sometimes life doesn't go to plan...
