When extinction for the humans they watched over for so long becomes inevitable, they are greeted by a God and offered the chance to experience life through the eyes of humans in another world. They take the opportunity, but while their new bodies may seem human, they are still anything but. They are immortal. They cannot die, but the people around them still can.
